I speak on behalf of myself and my grandson. We can’t thank Mr. Shields enough for all of his years through the YMCA of volunteering his own time. For us personally, it was almost 7 years. My grandson was a few months away of receiving his second Dan at the same time of becoming a 17-year-old, moving to a new resident and getting his first vehicle. Sadly, that took him away for a while. Now my grandson realizes a value as he looks back, try’s to stop in and visit and participate with Mr. Shields when he can get there on time from work. I think Mr. Shields from the bottom of my heart for everything that he is, for everything he inspires and for his love for all of his students. They don’t come better than this. Thank you Mr. Shields for being you.
